Review a custom date range during day hikes

Focus on the days you actually want to review. Trail time and the return journey may lack the usual home or work markers.

What makes this useful

A trip or schedule change does not always fit a preset week or month.

Use before setting out or after returning when that is all you recall; exact trail coordinates are unnecessary. A consistent label such as “hiking day” helps connect the day you remember with the visit you saved.

A practical way to begin

  1. Choose dates in Journal, set the first and last day, and apply the range.
  2. Clear the custom range when you want to return to the standard 7-, 30-, or 90-day view.
  3. For day hikes, use the first and last dates you want included. A “hiking day” note can then narrow the range to relevant visits rather than every visit on those days.

An example of useful context

“After returning from the hike, before the drive home.”

Can you place the visit without inventing an exact time on the trail?

Use your own wording and the details you remember. A short, recognizable note makes it easier to find the visit later.
