Set a check-in reminder during day hikes

Choose a useful prompt to remember your record. Trail time and the return journey may lack the usual home or work markers.

What makes this useful

A reminder is a prompt to record an observation, not a demand to have a bowel movement.

Use before setting out or after returning when that is all you recall; exact trail coordinates are unnecessary. A consistent label such as “hiking day” helps connect the day you remember with the visit you saved.

A practical way to begin

  1. Choose a daily reminder time during onboarding or in Account.
  2. Review or disable the reminder from Account when it is no longer useful.
  3. During day hikes, use the reminder to decide whether there is a real visit to record. Skip it when there is nothing to add, and revisit the time when the “hiking day” routine changes.

An example of useful context

“After returning from the hike, before the drive home.”

Can you place the visit without inventing an exact time on the trail?

Use your own wording and the details you remember. A short, recognizable note makes it easier to find the visit later.
